2. Records collection
We collect your child’s diagnostic evaluation and any prior treatment plans. If you don’t yet have a diagnosis, we can refer you to trusted Georgia evaluators.
3. Assessment & treatment plan
Our BCBA runs an initial functional assessment (typically 1–3 sessions) and writes a treatment plan tailored to your child’s goals.
4. Prior auth & start
We submit the treatment plan to CareSource for prior authorization. Once approved (typically 1–3 weeks), regular ABA sessions begin.

Is GRBS still accepting CareSource families in 2026?
Yes. GRBS remains in-network with CareSource and continues to accept new CareSource families across metro Atlanta and Northeast Georgia despite the May 2026 rate change.
What is the CareSource ABA rate change?
On March 27, 2026 CareSource issued a Notice of Material Amendment cutting ABA reimbursement to 80% of the Georgia Medicaid fee schedule for all covered services, effective May 11, 2026. This roughly 20% cut has led some providers to reduce CareSource capacity or drop the plan entirely.
Will authorization be harder to get?
Reporting suggests authorization denial rates have risen at some CareSource-billing providers. GRBS submits thorough treatment plans and medical necessity documentation to give each request the best chance of approval.
What if I need to switch CMOs?
Call the GA Families enrollment broker at 1-888-GA-Enroll (1-888-423-6765). Open enrollment windows apply. If continuity of care with GRBS is your priority, we accept all three current CMOs — Amerigroup, CareSource, Peach State.
Is CareSource part of the 2027 CMO transition?
Yes, and it is the only incumbent CMO that was awarded a new contract in the 2024 procurement. CareSource will continue in the next contract cycle alongside Humana, Molina, and UnitedHealthcare.
