What are the Georgia Medicaid CMOs right now (2026)?
As of 2026, Georgia Medicaid managed care runs through three Care Management Organizations: Amerigroup Community Care (an Elevance Health company), CareSource Georgia, and Peach State Health Plan (a Centene subsidiary). Together they cover roughly 1.5 million Georgia Medicaid members.
What is Georgia Families 360°?
Georgia Families 360° is a specialized statewide managed care program for youth in foster care, adoption assistance, or juvenile justice. In 2026 the program is administered by Amerigroup as the sole statewide CMO.
Which CMO is going away? Which new ones are coming?
In December 2024 the Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) issued a Notice of Intent to Award new CMO contracts to CareSource (incumbent), Humana, Molina Healthcare, and UnitedHealthcare. Amerigroup and Peach State were not awarded new contracts. UnitedHealthcare was also selected to administer Georgia Families 360° for foster/adoption/juvenile-justice youth.
When does the CMO transition actually happen?
The transition was originally targeted for July 1, 2026, but was delayed after Amerigroup and Peach State filed formal protests. In November 2025 the DCH Deputy Commissioner upheld the award; in January 2026 the Department of Administrative Services denied their appeals. The current CMOs (Amerigroup, CareSource, Peach State) have been extended through June 30, 2027, with the new CMOs targeted to begin in 2027.
What happened with CareSource ABA rates in 2026?
On March 27, 2026 CareSource issued a Notice of Material Amendment cutting ABA reimbursement to 80% of the Georgia Medicaid fee schedule for all covered services, effective May 11, 2026 — a roughly 20% rate reduction. Several providers have publicly discussed this change; families should ask any provider whether the change affects their continued availability.
Does GRBS accept Georgia Medicaid?
Yes. GRBS is currently in-network with all three Georgia Medicaid CMOs — Amerigroup, CareSource, and Peach State — and traditional Georgia Medicaid. We verify your specific plan before you commit.
Will my current ABA services continue during the transition?
If your current CMO (Amerigroup or Peach State) is not awarded a new contract, you would be re-enrolled in a new CMO before the transition date. Georgia Families rules require continuity-of-care protections during that switch. GRBS accepts every current CMO and every incoming CMO except two carriers we do not participate with, so most of our families will not experience a gap in care.
How do I enroll or switch CMOs?

What are EPSDT services?
EPSDT — Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment — is the federal Medicaid benefit that entitles Medicaid-enrolled children under 21 to medically necessary services, including ABA therapy when documented as medically necessary.
